This Business Analyst Course is to get an understanding of the most common fundamental dimensions of business analysis. The course enables one to have the capability to understand different business strategies and use tactful techniques to analyse certain business areas.

The course is designed to provide delegates with the knowledge in Data Analysis comprises fundamental principles, concepts and Techniques used to identify, analyse and model data. 

Candidate will be able to hold and apply strong data analytical skills and gain industry recognition as a professional business analyst. This also includes identifying & implement changes as per different business needs to meet identified & recurring challenges.

  • Distinguish between entity types and entity occurrences; objects and classes & Interpret data model extracts.
  • Evaluate conformance between data analysis artefacts and requirements.
  • State the business rules defined within data analysis artefacts. Also, define the rules used to derive third normal form relations from unnormalized data. Also, evaluate data sets against normalisation rules.
  • Concepts and principles of Data analysis and Modelling:
  • Definitions of terms – data, data analysis, data model.
  • The rationale for analysing and modelling data along with Techniques used in data analysis.
  • Entity relationship modelling, Analysis class modelling along with Normalisation.
  • Approaches to data analysis and modelling derived from business needs: ‘top-down’ & from data sources: ‘bottom-up’.
  • Application of data analysis artefacts with Business modelling, System modelling (existing and required).
  • Impact analysis.
  • Communication and training.

  • Content of an entity relationship model
  • Identification of entities and attributes
  • Entity types and entity occurrences
  • Attribute types and attribute occurrences
  • Simple and compound keys
  • Relationships

  • Optionality, Exclusivity, Recursion & Naming relationships
  • Super-types and sub-types.
  • Rationalising Data:
  • Normalisation process and rules
  • Unnormalized form (UNF)
  • First normal form (FNF)
  • Second normal form (SNF)
  • Third normal form (TNF)
  • Definition of the TNF tests
  • Rationalisation of TNF results from multiple data sources
  • Development of the TNF model
  • Analysis class Modelling:
