Students will learn basic crochet techniques, some of the most common stitches are and how to read crochet patterns. Put all these together and you will start your first basic granny square!
Find out about different types of yarn, crochet hooks and where to find crochet patterns. Classes are small, intimate and hands-on which is perfect for beginners. All tools and materials are provided.
What is covered in this class:
As a follow on from this class, Part 2 will further develop your newly learnt crochet skills. Students will learn to make other crochet stitches and how to join pieces together, if you want to make your crochet squares into a blanket. Find our Part 2 workshop dates. Make a beautiful runner (or you could grow it into a throw or quilt) is made with fabric blocks with a crocheted edge interspersed with a combination of plain crocheted Granny Squares and crocheted Daisy Squares.

You will learn how to work in knits and stretch and the differences between these types of fabrics. You will get a comprehensive information sheet on elastics building on what you learnt in my beginner’s class.
Do you want to understand working with knit (stretch) fabrics? This class takes you through fabric selection, cutting and techniques for working with knit fabrics. You can make a basic t- shirt in the process (allow at least 2 classes).
