Our Story
We opened in 2000 as one of the first yoga studios in Montreal by founders Mark Darby and Allison Ulan to bring the traditional Ashtanga yoga teachings to Montreal. Over the years the studio has grown, moved, and changed directions and directors. This year we have adopted a new logo as well as refining our identity. While it's important for us to keep offering the traditional Ashtanga Mysore practice, we also have extended our studies to offer a variety of complementary practices suitable for all needs. To be able to vary how we teach based on the needs of the students in front of us. We recognize the difference between each individual and allow the student to acknowledge it as well and respect what is present for them.
Working from the structure of Ashtanga, many of our teachers have studied Iyengar and other disciplines whether it is restorative, yin, hatha, meditation, pranayama, or structural movement. All to help to deliver the most educated form of practice for you.It is important for all of us to be able to provide a safe and non-judgmental space where each individual can explore at their own self at the speed of their individual path.Check out our teachers and their approach to find the perfect teaching for your need, based on their individual journeys along the path of self-study.
