DurationThe Heart and Stroke BLS Provider Course (formerly HCP-C) is intended for those who work in the health care professions. This course focuses on the delivery of high-quality CPR to improve survival outcomes.
Knowing how to respond and what is involved in the delivery of high-quality CPR is essential. Participants practice using high quality feedback manikins to achieve proficiency in the delivery of BLS skills.
Students practice ventilating using a Bag-Valve-Mask and become familiar with the AED device. Adult, child and infant skills are practiced with an emphasis also placed on choking.
The Heart and Stroke BLS course is approved by the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Alberta Health Services (AHS), follows ILCOR guidelines and as per the Heart and Stroke you must renew your certificate yearly. Please review the topics of this course.
