The Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment course develops the skills and knowledge around workplace hazard identification and how to manage associated risks.
Section 21 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (Vic.) requires that employers provide an adequate level of information, instruction, training and supervision to employees to enable them to work safely.
This unit covers the competency required to confine small workplace emergencies. Small workplace emergencies may include such incidents as a small fire that can be controlled using a nearby fire extinguisher; or a chemical spill that can be controlled using workplace personal protective clothing
This course is designed to assist staff to gain knowledge and skills in prevention of manual handling related incidents by the use of relevant WHS Act, Regulations and Code of Practice relating to Manual Handling Hazards.
To provide the participants with the base skills and knowledge to undertake Basic Scaffolding Activities at work in accordance with Safe Work Australia's National Standard for Person Performing High Risk Work (2006).
