The workshop is directed towards those who have had little or no experience with the software and would like to learn the basics of 3d part modeling and assembly using catia. Each section of the workshop will explain the relevant toolbars and features followed by examples which will be worked through step-by-step by the instructor and student.
The workshop is intended to provide an introduction to the interface and features of catia relevant to 3d modeling and parts assembly that will in turn provide a solid foundation for exploring more advanced topics.
Catia is a powerful cad/cam/cae software developed by dassault systemes and used throughout the engineering world. Although popular in many industries including automotive, energy and industrial equipment, catia is most widely used in the aerospace sector where the majority of companies such as boeing and bombardier aerospace use it extensively for component design, manufacturing process design, and analysis.
In addition to 3d modeling, it has a wide range of capabilities including stress analysis, kinematics design, and surface modeling.
the focus of this workshop will be to provide an introduction to the 3d modeling and part assembly features of catia.
Welcome to the Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering (MIE) at the University of Toronto. We are a diverse group of faculty, staff and students dedicated not just to excellence in teaching, learning, and discovery, but to building a supportive and caring community.
Our undergraduate students come from all over, not just to get a great Mechanical or Industrial Engineering education from within the classroom, but to take advantage of myriad opportunities to engage beyond the classroom, to make the most of the years they're here with us.
The same goes for our grad students, whether MEng students taking advanced courses, or MASc and PhD students working closely with one or more professors on research. It's amazing what our students accomplish while at the U of T, and what our alumni go on to achieve after graduation.
We are also very proud of our outstanding professors, many of whom have won awards for groundbreaking research, and for excellence in teaching. Finally, MIE is privileged to be supported by a wonderful group of administrative and technical staff.
Whether you're a prospective student looking for a great place to study and learn, or already a member of our community, I urge you to explore our website, to learn more about us.
With warm regards,
Markus Bussmann

This catia v5 foundation training course introduces the trainee to the fundamental concepts behind catia v5 (3dexperience catia mechanical and shape engineer) part design, assembly design and drafting. Suitable for the new user, self-taught engineers and users coming from other 3d cad packages such
Enable users and designers to learn advanced tools of modeling using complex solid and surface features of catia v5 to enhance their productivity by reducing modeling time and better control over design modifications. Also learn advanced assembly functions to control complex assembly structures, to...
Catia Intermediate (CEEC-132) is offered by Centennial College. You will learn the intermediate concepts of interactive catia.
Training aims: The main objective is to acquire the basic notions of the software to navigate in the different “designer” applications of Catia V6.
This catia course is taught at metro college because catia is a powerful feature-based software system. It provides flexible cad/cae capabilities that assist in every design-through-manufacturing process.
