If you dream of working in a highly creative fashion industry then a Certificate III in Hairdressing could be for you.

We also offer non-apprenticeship training , also known as college-based hairdressing training. This course is delivered over 10 months and included some work placement in a hairdressing salon. This course is focused on hands on skills working with real clients to achieve industry skills and knowledge.

Our course delivery features a combination of on-campus and remote (online) learning. This flexibility allows our students to continue to study in a safe, guided and supported manner.

 

Course Structure:

  • Full time / Part time / Blended - Apprenticeship/Trainee- 3 - Year/s (contact days reliant on employment)
  • Full time (Non-apprentice) - Classroom- 1 - Year/s (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday)


Accreditation:

  • This qualification is nationally recognised

  • This course will prepare you for employment in the hairdressing industry.

  • There are no pre-requisites for this course.


Course overview:

This qualification reflects the role of hairdressers who use a range of well-developed sales, consultation and technical skills and knowledge to provide a broad range of hairdressing services to clients. They use discretion and judgement to provide client services and take responsibility for the outcomes of their own work.

This qualification provides a pathway to work as a hairdresser in any industry environment, usually a salon. No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.


Selection process:

  • Students will be selected after a direct interview.


Recognition of prior learning (RPL)

Recognition of prior learning (RPL) may be given for skills and knowledge gained through previous study or other relevant experience.  Further information refer to RPL

Key study areas:

Communication with clients, shampooing and blow drying hair, hair colouring and cutting mens and womens hair. Long hair styling, chemical straightening.
