What You’ll Learn
On this accountancy and finance course you’ll develop the skills to deal with payroll, sales, purchases and expenses. You’ll learn to take on responsibilities which are transferrable across many sectors – such as manual double-entry bookkeeping, financial documents and process, reconciliations and trial balances.

This course will provide you with the understanding on why keeping financial information accurate and up to date is important in the workplace.
This Level 1 qualification introduces the role of a bookkeeper and the underpinning knowledge to identify and carry out simple different bookkeeping activities, such as income and expenditure, profit and loss, and assets and liabilities.
The course will introduce students to the double-entry bookkeeping system, and associated documents and processes. Students will reach the stage of extracting an initial trial balance, before any adjustments are made.
Students completing this qualification will develop an understanding of the role of the bookkeeper, including the need to produce timely and accurate work and to follow ethical principles. Daytime and evening classes will be available, and there will be multiple start dates through the year.
Awarded by the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT), the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping will give you a solid introduction to bookkeeping and basic accounting practices to give you confidence in the workplace.
