Classical Ballet students from Grade 1 and above must attend 2 Ballet classes per week. Exams are also available to students from 6yrs.
Founded in 1920, RAD is the world’s largest and most influential dance organisations in the world. SCPAC has had great success with Classical students, including the acceptance into the world's most prestigious competitions such as The Prix De Lausanne (85 students accepted worldwide), and Youth America Grand Prix (Finalist).
Selected SCPAC students are invited to attend our Ballet Elite Classes, which assist students with potential in this discipline. Classical Ballet students from Grade 1 and above must attend 2 Ballet classes per week. Exams are also available to students from 6yrs.
SCPAC offers capped classes for all styles of dance, to ensure each child gets the individual attention they require. Capped classes ensure for an optimal teaching environment. This guarantees the students’ needs are continuously being met to a high-quality standard.
Our studios are fully air-conditioned, equipped with wooden sprung flooring, professional barres, and full-length mirrors. For the comfort of our students, we have a student lounge, dining and study area, as well as change rooms and showers. For your convenience, we also have a dance and theatrical supplies store, and parent viewing areas.
Classical ballet is exciting, demanding and inspiring. Our professional classical ballet teachers are trained to recognize each individual students needs and nurture them with their knowledge, technique and love of dance.
We teach the ATOD (Australian Teachers of Dancing) Ballet syllabus and complete ATOD examinations which can lead to world recognised professional certificates and diplomas in teaching and dance performance. Ballet builds strength, discipline and grace.
Progressing Ballet Technique is a body strengthening programme focusing on alignment, weight placement and core strength. These exercises help students engage the muscles responsible for turnout and is a great programme for improving ballet technique and preventing injuries.
The class is focused on developing foot and ankle strength and flexibility. Students are welcome to take this class in soft ballet shoes to focus on developing their strength and technique.
Each class will start at the barre’ and then move into the centre. Ask any professional Jazz/Contemporary/Hip Hop dancer and they will advise to take Classical Ballet.
