Course Details

Attendees, having successfully completed this training, can apply Health and Safety legislation and the best practice to EWP selection, inspection and operation.

They are able to plan, prepare, communicate and complete associated documentation for EWP including the required prestart checks, hazard & risk analysis select and reporting of faults.

They are able to assess the worksite, prepare the machine and safely operate an EWP machine according to manufacturer’s specifications and established control measures to maintain safe working distances, personal safety and the safety of others.

 

Learning Intentions:

  • Identify the different types of EWP and explain their suitability for different work tasks and environments
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the responsibilities and legal requirements of individuals and groups when using an EWP to perform work tasks.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the operator safety features and procedures when operating an EWP.
  • Conduct a hazard and risk analysis to assess and prepare the worksite when using an EWP.
  • Conduct a pre-start safety inspection and complete the associated documentation, including recording and reporting any faults.
  • Safely operate and manoeuvre, shut down and secure EWP machine/s.
