Introduction:

The CompTIA A+ certificate is widely recognised and prepares the individual to enter the market as PC Technician. The CompTIA A+ certification is the industry standard for validating vendor-neutral skills expected for an entry level computer technician and will open the door for an exciting career in computer technology.

The CompTIA A+ certification ensures that the successful candidate has the important knowledge and skills necessary which covers the fundamentals of computer technology, installation and configuration of PCs, laptops and related hardware, networking, and the skills required to install and configure PC operating systems, as well as configuring common features for mobile operating systems Android, Linux and Apple iOS.

•  Hardware: Identifying, using, and connecting hardware components and devices
•  Networking: Explain types of networks and connections including TCP/IP, WIFI and SOHO
•  Mobile devices: Installing & configuring laptops and other mobile devices
•  Windows Operating Systems: Installing and supporting Windows OS including command line & client support
•  Hardware & Network Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot device and network issues
•  Other Operating System and Technologies: Mac OS, Linus and Mobile OS
•  Software Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot PC and mobile device issues including application security support
•  Security: Identify and protect against security vulnerabilities for devices and their network connections
•  Operational Procedures: Follow best practices for safety, environmental impacts, and communication and professionalism
• Prerequisite: Not required, just ease of using PC.
• SQA Framework: The CompTIA A + program also offers a number of shorter curricula which are related to SQA standalone HN Units. These are also assessed by means of restricted response questions and practical labs and so can give credit transfer to complete units. Learner can earn up to 48 credits upon passing all exams successfully.

The new CompTIA A+ Core Series requires candidates to pass two exams: Core 1 (220-1001) and Core 2 (220-1002).
