At BTT College, our CAP training assumes that students have little or no previous accounting knowledge or skills. They will start from the beginning and will increase their knowledge and skills through theory, hands-on practice exercises, and software.
After six months of attending CAP classes, students will develop critical thinking, the ability to analyze situations, attention to detail, good telephone manners, customer service, and problem-solving.
As a bookkeeper you will need to know a variety of tasks such as:
Differentiate between various accounts
Understand normal balances (Debits & Credits)
Post journal entries
Prepare financial statements
Master accounting principles
Know and understand the rules and regulations of Canadian Payroll
Understand the rules and regulations of Canada Revenue Agency taxation includes personal, self-employed/small business and Corporate tax returns.
