Confined space entry presents a number of existing and potential hazards. The maintenance and operations of many campus infrastructure systems requires workers to enter confined spaces.
The UT Austin Confined Space Program provides requirements and procedures necessary to ensure the safety of personnel working inside confined spaces, as well as establishes a standard means of identifying and assessing these spaces.
This program applies to all UT Austin faculty, staff, students, and contractors performing confined space entries on the UT Austin campus or at associated field locations.
EHS works to protect the health and safety of the faculty, staff and students at UT Austin in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
