Upon completion of the Confined Space Hazard Awareness for Construction training participants will be able to identify confined spaces and demonstrate knowledge of legislative requirements and general procedures for confined space entry, as amended effective September 30, 2006.
This is an awareness program only. There is no hands-on component to this program.
Course topics may include:
Occupational Health and Safety Act
Hazards identification and assessment
Identifying confined spaces
Meters and monitors
Hazard control
Rescue requirements
Roles and responsibilities
Permit systems

The Working at Heights construction course is designed to provide the basic knowledge required to work safely in areas where there is a possible exposure to fall hazards.
The Alberta Construction Training Institute’s (ACTI) Overhead Crane training is 8 hours in duration and is designed for hoist operators. The training material is designed to give operators the necessary knowledge of equipment, safety principles, and operation
This course will introduce the participants to the investigation process and provide participants with the basic skills and knowledge required to conduct effective incident investigations at surface mining operations.
Often developed to lessen the physical load for workers, elevating devices create a host of new hazards including pinch points and other moving parts.
The definition of a “Supervisor” under Occupational Health and Safety Act is “a person who has charge of a workplace or authority over a worker”.
