Course Content

• Understand legislation, regulations and codes of practice
• Understand the roles and responsibilities of the following: Appointed Person, Associated person, Crane Supervisor, Slinger, Signaller, Crane Erector, Maintenance persons
• Explain maintenance, inspection and testing required for lifting equipment
• Understand and identify lifting accessories, uses and capabilities
• Demonstrate and practice different types of communication methods in lifting
• Demonstrate best practice when communicating lift plans and other information
• Understand different types of cranes and technologies
• Understand Crane Duty Charts, Safety Devices and stability
• Understand how to plan lifts

Entry Requirements

• It is preferable that the candidate has prior experience of lifting
• Health and Safety test if CPCS or CSCS logo is required
