Crane Operator Safety Training

During the course delegates will gain practical knowledge on basic crane operating procedures, routine inspections, emergency procedures and ability to carry out basic auditing.

Course objectives

The course assessment is based on api recommended practice 2d; osha guidelines for offshore crane operators, the candidate log book records; crane handling experience records submitted by the candidate.

Course content

Training and assessments includes:

• Principles of crane operations, type of cranes
• Crane components, boom structure
• Operation from mobile and fixed platforms.
• Critical lifts, use of counter weights, limit devices
• Load charts , slinging of load tests
• Lubrication, routine maintenance & housekeeping
• Banks man, hand signals, radio procures
• Wire rope slings & maintenance
• Permit to work, log book, records
• Legislation & approved codes of practice
• Risk analysis, personnel basket transfer
• Mounting features of the resolving structure
