Support HEART
We would like to thank all of our staff, volunteers, and local community for supporting us to return to business as usual.
We have been so overwhelmed by the generosity of HEART supporters over this time and hope you can still continue to offer that support.
The Centre is still recovering and, unlike many organisations, HEART has to be entirely self-sufficient; we don’t receive grants or any other kind of subsidy, so have to make every penny and pound ourselves.
As ever, whether it’s £1 or £100, it all makes a difference.
Many authors take their own life experience as a starting point for works of fiction. In this discursive course we will be looking at how memory and imagination can work together across a variety of genres to create engaging stories.
If you have always wanted to give creative writing a go but aren’t sure where to start, or if you secretly write on your own and would like to improve but have never shown anyone your work, then this is the course for you.
If you would like to explore creative writing, then this course is for you. We will experiment with poetry as well as investigate technical aspects of fiction such as plot structure, developing characterisation and dialogue and establishing setting and mood.
This course prepares you to enter the industry as a professional journalist or go on to work in all sorts of creative industries, from creative writing to comedy.
Writing for Professionals is designed for anybody who recognises that writing in English is a part of their professional life. It teaches a proven method that will make your documents clearer, more concise, effectively structured and far more professional.
