Afro Dancehall Fusion is a mixed style with with African steps from all around Africa through to dancehall steps from Jamaica. In this class you will learn the passion the energy and the style of African dance and Jamaican Dancehall.
This is a fast-moving, feverish, “spiritual” class with an emphasis on strengthening technique and expression in the “black contemporary” style, tracing traditional dancehall steps and bringing it into a modern context. DANCE to songs from Beenie Man, Mavado, Capleton, Lady Saw, Ding Dong.
Dancehall is part of Jamaican culture. This dance style will get your hips moving and grooving to the sounds of upbeat, drum hitting rhythms. Fun, energetic and attitude are words often used to describe dancehall.
Online Dancehall Open classes are offered by Dance Central Sydney. Dancehall moves are very energetic and consist of a lot of isolations, movement of the hips and total body movement.
These Dancehall classes will teach the authentic Dancehall steps from Old School, Middle School and New School straight from Jamaica. No experience needed.
