The Linwood Community Arts Centre (Linwood Arts for short) is committed to artist development through our exhibition programme and community development via participation in our three creative spaces.
We hold large exhibitions in Eastside Gallery & small ones in the Mini Gallery, offer low-cost art & craft classes in our Artroom, and hire our spaces for arts-related activities and events such as singing, dancing and performing arts, all within a beautiful heritage building, one block east of Fitzgerald Ave in Õtautahi, Christchurch.
With this pre-trade qualification, you’ll be introduced to preliminary painting and plastering skills, including the requirements for workplace health and safety. You’ll also get to put your new skills to the test in a relevant project using real world product and project specifications.
Great for a complete beginner or experienced, you’ll chose your media, subject and style to explore how you can create in your own unique way and direction. You can focus on either drawing or painting.
Painting course is offered by Ma-Fi Arts. We always start with a drawing session developing both observation and imagination. We are very well equipped and provide a wide array of different tools and materials.
Classical Drawing course is offered by Tahan Art Studio. Tahan Art provide quality fine art classes, with a traditional approach for beginners to advanced level students.
Talented tutor Dale Gilmore will teach you tips & techniques to paint with Oil Paint. Beginners and continuers are welcome. Materials provided for 1st lesson for new students.
