What will I learn?
You provide your own materials for this course. For your first class you must bring a sewing kit and some fabric to practice with.
Please note this course is not suitable for any student with no experience of using a sewing machine. Those requiring experience on a sewing machine should book onto the Basic Sewing class.
This class is also only suitable for beginners to Dressmaking. If you have already attended you may be suited to move on to courses offered at our Cardonald campus.

This 10-week course is designed to introduce you to the fundamental skills of sewing. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to refresh your skills, this course will provide you with the knowledge and practical experience to create your own garments and home decor.
The Dressmaking course we offer is suitable for both beginners and progressing sewing students. Delivered in a step by step process within 10 weeks, beginners will go from learning how to thread machine to wearing their finished garment.
Enjoy an evening making 2 lanterns using your choice from a great range of fabrics. You will take away your 2 lanterns at the end of the workshop all ready to display and use in your home or garden. (Please note these are for battery operated tea lights only).
This course will enable students to make traditional wearable garments. Come along to join our creative sewing class to enhance your sewing skills. During this course you will learn many new sewing techniques and methods in drafting sewing patterns for wearable garments.
This is the perfect course to start your sewing journey, over the course you gradually build up your skills, techniques and knowledge. We teach everything you need to know to be able to confidently sew basic projects and complete simple dressmaking.
