Course Details

Our Dressmaking course will give you the skills and knowledge to produce your own garment. The class will work on a project which is set by the tutor.

It covers pattern alteration, fabric choice, and fitting, pinning and cutting out. You’ll be shown how to use sewing machines and how to make and finish garments.

 

What will I learn?

You provide your own materials for this course. For your first class you must bring a sewing kit and some fabric to practice with.

Please note this course is not suitable for any student with no experience of using a sewing machine. Those requiring experience on a sewing machine should book onto the Basic Sewing class.

This class is also only suitable for beginners to Dressmaking. If you have already attended you may be suited to move on to courses offered at our Cardonald campus.
