DurationIf you’d class yourself as comfortable on a sewing machine but keen to get to grips with the world of dressmaking, then this is a great place to start. This workshop is an introduction to dressmaking, using the Tilly and the Buttons Lotta Dress Pattern – an easy wear, easy fit, firm favourite at The Sewing Cafe dress.
A simple blousy top (with no zips or fastenings) with either a short sleeve or a bracelet length sleeve, nipped in at the waist with a comfortable narrow elasticated waistband. A flared skirt glides over the hips, you can pick your perfect length and add pockets, if you wish.
If you’ve already dabbled in the world of dressmaking, and really like the look of this dress, then you’re also welcome to join us for a lovely day of sewing, hints and tips, chatting and cake!
Make yourself at home in our workshop and take the opportunity to learn new skills, brush up existing ones or take on a project. We want to create a place where you can come and enjoy sewing, no matter what your experience, workshops will be relaxed so you can take your time, and even help yourself to tea or coffee.
Knitting classes are offered by Knit Nottingham for all skill level. It's one of our great pleasures to offer private workshops for knitting and crochet! We've been doing it for years and they're always such great fun and so informative.
The aim of this class is to teach you the basics and get you started. You will begin this workshop being shown how to hold your hook and yarn, how to create the basic chain and then introduce you to crochet stitches such as single, double and treble crochet.
This course is designed especially for beginners to sewing. If you have never used a sewing machine before, or used one many a moon ago and would like to reacquaint yourself with sewing, then this course will give you the skills and confidence to get started sewing.
Jolly Stitcher is an independently run haberdashery in Fareham, Hampshire, offering Knitting workshop for all ages and abilities (because you CAN teach an old dog new tricks!).???????
Having lessons at home is not convenient for everyone, Maybe there are distractions at home or you may live outside the Bristol Area, with my training room you can have your lessons away from home.
