The Pearson BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care offers students an in-depth introduction to the subject area via mandatory units, while also allowing for the acquisition of specific knowledge, skills and experience through specialist pathways and the selection of optional units across a range of occupationally-relevant subjects at Level 4 in year one and Level 5 in year two.
Students will gain a wide range of sector knowledge tied to practical skills gained in evidence-based practice, personal research, self-study, directed study and work-integrated learning and experience.

This role is found in a range of private and public settings including full day care, children’s centres, pre-schools, reception classes, playgroups, nursery schools, out of school environments and local authority provision.
Lead Partners was introduced in 2012 and allows schools to recruit students onto teacher education courses run in collaboration with universities. To make sure you have a range of placement opportunities, schools work together in Teaching Alliances.
This course is accredited by City and Guilds, Training Qualifications UK, Active IQ, Pearson, and Ocr. It covers the knowledge and understanding required by the Further Education National Training Organisation (FENTO) or the Employment National Training Organisation (EMPNTO) occupational standards.
Our courses will enable you to develop the knowledge, skills and experience required to work in Early Years settings, such as primary schools and creches.
This introductory qualification is for trainee teachers who are just starting out in teaching/training, not in teaching/training currently or perhaps working as assessors and wish to develop their teaching skills.
