ECE Training

During your training at CDI College, you’ll complete observation assignments and practicum hours required by the Ministry of Children and Family Development in settings such as daycare centres or nurseries to ensure a balanced combination of theory and practice.

The Early Childhood Education Certificate program is available through on-campus or online learning.

This program is approved through the ECE Registry of British Columbia.This program has been approved by the registrar of the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training.

Individuals who have successfully completed Basic Early Childhood Education training through a recognized educational institution in British Columbia may apply to the BC Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Registry for certification as a Basic Early Childhood Educator (ECE) or as an Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA).  

Admission

  • High school graduation or equivalent*

    OR
  • Mature student status**
  • From an English-language teaching institution.
  • 19 years of age upon starting classes and pass the college's English admissions test.

Administrative Requirements

  • Interview with campus director, program co-ordinator, or designate.
  • Current resume (record of work history)
  • Three character references
