This course is for prospective teachers wishing to pursue a career in Further Education (working with students aged 14 and over) – or alternatively, be in an FE teaching role and wishing to gain a full teaching qualification.
On successful completion of this two-year course, together with literacy and numeracy at Level 2 and a specialised subject at Level 3, you may apply for QTLS status, which is the equivalent of QTS status.

Entry requirements
You must have a Level 3 qualification or relevant experience, together with a Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent. If you do not have English and/or maths, you should be willing to work towards the Level 2 by the completion of the course.
In addition, you must already be in a teaching role with a minimum of 50 hours teaching per year spread out over the year. Evidence of a satisfactory DBS check is also required. Enrolment is subject to interview and suitable initial assessments/certificates.
This course is for people aged 19 and over, who are in teaching roles (or can get teaching hours) with students who are aged 14 and over.
