This course will provide participants with an overview of how commercial buildings can be better prepared for such incidents through effective emergency planning, and be prepared to face and overcome the impact when probable scenarios happen.
Emergency Response Planning for Commercial Premises:
As today’s commercial buildings get taller and taller, with more complex systems; the stake for building owner and building management increases exponentially when faced with the legislative accountability and statutory responsibilities of the occupants’ fire and life safety concerns.
Apart from ensuring that all building occupants can exit the building premise safety within good reasonable time, the legislation also require the building owner to put in place an effective emergency response plan to handle the emergency situation such as fire, tremor, or even a “white-powder” letter. Hence, an effective emergency response planning is paramount.
This course will provide participants with an overview of how commercial buildings can be better prepared for such incidents through effective emergency planning, and be prepared to face and overcome the impact when probable scenarios happen.
Evacuation Planning:
One of the most critical components of any emergency plan is its evacuation effectiveness. Given the complexity of building design and layout, effective evacuation is a challenging and daunting task to ensure safe egress during the formulation of the emergency response plan. This course will provide participants with an overview of what to consider when planning and implementing the evacuation strategy.
