National Unit Of Competency

This training course is a foundation for obtaining the RII30719 Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue. Undertaking this Module 3 Emergency Rescue & Response course will give you the Statement of Attainment in:

  • PUASAR022 – Participate in a rescue operation

  • PUASAR024 – Undertake road crash rescue

  • RIIERR301E – Respond to work site incidents

  • RIIIRIS301E – Apply risk management processes

 

About The Course

This course offered by Saferight is an Australian nationally recognised qualification and is the mining and resources industry standard for those employed or seeking employment within the fields.

This qualification reflects the role of emergency response and rescue team members working in the resources and infrastructure industry, especially in performing rescue operation and managing work site incidents.

The training is structured into three separate short courses for an easier learning experience, which collectively pave the way for a higher qualification, notably the RII30719 Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue.

 

Course Structure

Rescue, Incident & Risk Management 

  • PUASAR022 – Participate in a rescue operation

    • Prepare and respond to rescue scenarios

    • Assist in evaluating risks on-site

    • Execute rescue activities

    • Finalise rescue operations

  • PUASAR024 – Undertake Road Crash Rescue

    • Prepare and respond to road crash rescue scenarios

    • Set up and uphold safety at the rescue scene

    • Attend to casualties

    • Evacuate casualties from the crash site

    • Finalise operations related to road crash rescues

  • RIIERR301E – Respond to work site incidents

    • Strategise and get ready for incident reactions

    • Address the incident

    • Set up a forward control point

  • RIERR302E – Respond to local emergencies and incidents

    • Prepare to address local crisis scenarios or incidents

    • React to specific local emergencies or occurrences

    • Aid in official relief and reflection sessions

  • RIIRIS301E – Apply risk management processes

    • Strategise and prepare for managing risks

    • Detect and evaluate significant risks

    • Suggest controls for identified risks

    • Assist in enacting risk control measures

    • Examine documentation related to risk management

 

Entry Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and understand English

  • Present photo I.D. on arrival

  • Complete a ‘Fitness to Complete Training’ form. The student is required to declare any medical issue that may exclude them from full participation

  • Complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) test to determine if the applicant has the required skill level to complete the course.
