Each lesson introduces new grammar and vocabulary targets and the students learn to master those targets through reading, writing, listening and speaking. Each stage includes writing, reading for meaning, grammar, vocabulary, communication, listening skills, pronunciation, culture, and interaction.
Our courses for primary school children are conducted on weekday afternoons and evenings, on Saturdays and Sundays.
Emphasis English Academy was founded by Ronan O’Carroll in 2004 to help improve the mastery of English. Having worked here and experienced first-hand the unique issues that face Malaysian learners of English, as well as having trained overseas and recognising the importance of English as a global language.
Ronan saw an opportunity to go beyond the mundane and standardised teaching methods that many Malaysian tuition centers, language schools, and other institutions of learning provide. At Emphasis, our main focus has always been to help develop our students into strong and confident communicators.
