They do not partake in emergency operations and must therefore work under supervision of a person who is qualified/skilled to carry out rescue procedures from fall arrest systems.

The Institute for Work at Height was initially formed as a trade organisation in January 2009 being a merger of the Specialised Access Engineering Manufacturers Association (SAEMA) and the Rope Access And Fall Arrest Association (RAFAA) desirous of creating safety awareness and in turn “professionalism in the overall Work At Height Industry”. Soon other sectors of the work at height industry joined, and the seven different chambers were created.
The members all agreed that their input in the development of the necessary skills was lacking and thus they decided to apply for the registration of a Professional Body. In November 2012, the Institute for Work at Height Professional Body received official recognition by the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA).
HIRA training is offered by Ngozidhlamini Training Centre. Our training is not just a bunch of manuals to take home but learners are encouraged and assisted with visual and practical knowledge in every course.
Overhead/ Mobile/ Truck Mounted Crane Novice training is offered by Occusafe (Pty)Ltd. Accredited training is provided nationwide on site by our dedicated and professional facilitators.
IY Safety Inspection and Training Specialists (Pty) Ltd also offers a wide variety of training such as Crane Operator License for new candidates or refresher training.
The aim of this course is to help learners to select and set up temporary road signs and barriers at road works to ensure the safety of pedestrians, motorists and workers, when any work has to be done in a road or next to a road on the pavement.
Presented on the client's premises we can facilitate either Novice Forklift Training or alternatively for learner's who has had a previous certificate for operation of a Forklift or a Counter Balanced Lift Truck given the certificate had not expired for a period exceeding 90 days.
