Course Details

A ‘Basic Fall Arrest Operator’ is a person who has been trained in the identification and safe use of fall arrest equipment. Persons requiring this skills programme are typically required to climb structures and position themselves safely while performing work at height.

They do not partake in emergency operations and must therefore work under supervision of a person who is qualified/skilled to carry out rescue procedures from fall arrest systems.

 

Other criteria:

  • Must be in possession of a current, valid medical certificate.
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Must renew his/her license every three years to proof that he/she is still able to perform the work competently and safely
