Course Details

If your job requires you to work on heights, it is mandatory under OH&S regulations to use a suitable fall protection system.

WorkSafe BC requires the workers using personal fall protection systems to be trained and certified to applicable standards to prevent injuries and maintain workplace safety. 

This course is designed to provide information on applicable laws, design, and use of fall protection systems.

This course helps workers and employers to meet their responsibilities, to achieve their goal of zero accidents at the workplace, and to ensure everybody returns home safely at the end of the workday. 

 

Course Content:

  • Occupational H&S regulations that apply to Fall protection

  • How to create a written fall protection plan

  • Working on ladders

  • Introduction to various fall protection systems to be used

  • Guard Rails

  • Fall restraint

  • Fall arrest

  • Information on the difference between fall restraint & fall arrest systems 

  • Introduction to fall protection equipment and components 

  • Don, Doff and inspect the full-body harness

  • What happens if you don't follow safe handling practices
