Whether it be for print or runway, fashion and editorial makeup application must be creative, yet appropriate for the purpose to be served. It is important to understand the latest runway and couture trends from international and national shows, as well as what is happening on the high street. Fashion makeup can be minimal, edgy, dramatic, vintage inspired and classic.
Working as a makeup artist on editorial photoshoots is a highly creative process for a makeup artist. It requires the makeup artist to work as team to produce an illustrative story through their vision.
During this course students will have a strong understanding of the importance of beautiful flawless skin and how to collaborate and design looks towards a creative brief.
Cameron Jane Thomas is an experienced make-up artist and trainer specialising in film, fashion and airbrushing, who has been actively involved in the film and entertainment industry for over fourteen years. Cameron has achieved industry acclaimed status for her airbrushing work at Sydney and
Melbourne fashion weeks working with the great Dotti and Rae Morris. Cameron worked as head of make-up department on the feature film “The Bet” staring Mathew Newton and Sybilla Budd. “The Bet” has been released and received 3½ stars. Cameron has worked on numerous TV commercials as well as working on Rescue Special Ops broadcast on Channel 9.
For 2 hours, we will work through products, techniques, skin preparation and final details for you walk out confident and educated for your next event.
These workshops can be undertaken as an activity, such as a hens party or staff outing, or a make-up workshop with friends. This can also cover models and anyone who wants to learn how to make themselves look natural with a perfect look.
