Being an independent tertiary college allows Collarts to offer a more specialised experience than a traditional university. Students are taught by industry leaders who have collectively worked with the world’s best music acts, produced and recorded award-winning albums, managed some of Australia’s best-known events, and created editorial and creative content for some of the world’s leading media outlets.
By offering a hands-on, collaborative approach to learning, our college strives to support those who want to succeed in the creative and entertainment industries, both nationally and internationally. Throughout their education, students are given opportunities to gain work experience at music festivals, entertainment venues, recording facilities, radio stations, and with brands and organisations at the forefront of contemporary culture. As part of each degree, students also undertake a comprehensive work placement.
Reconciliation Action Plan
Collarts have a deep level of respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, knowledge and culture. We embrace this culture in our organisation in many ways. Our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) signifies an important next step for us to integrate reconciliation into our organisation and operations. Government Fee Help
For eligible Australian citizens, course fees at Collarts are supported by the Australian government’s FEE-HELP scheme. FEE-HELP is the independent college equivalent of the more widely known HECS scheme. For students, this means no upfront tuition fees, and as with HECS, re-payments for tuition fees are made slowly through the tax system — but only after surpassing a certain salary threshold.
Get your Degree in Two Years
Collarts works on a trimester schedule, which means we divide the year into three study periods (called trimesters) instead of two (semesters) like most universities. Because of this trimester structure, students can graduate with a Bachelor’s degree after two years of study. This also means that students get fewer holidays than they would have under a traditional university semester structure, with approximately two-week breaks in between trimesters and a summer break of 6 – 7 weeks.
COLLARTS Campuses
Collarts provides on-campus courses in Melbourne, Australia. Our students enjoy learning across five incredible inner-city campuses, located in Collingwood, Fitzroy and Melbourne CBD: Wellington St Campus, George St Campus, Cromwell St Campus, Collins St Campus, and Brunswick St Campus.
