On this two-day Felt Hat course you will learn how to block, shape and manipulate wool felt. You can choose to block a brim hat such as Fedora or Trilby or you can chose to block a smaller hat such as a pillbox, beret or fascinator.
On this two-day Felt Hat course you will learn how to block, shape and manipulate wool felt. You can choose to block a brim hat such as Fedora or Trilby or you can chose to block a smaller hat such as a pillbox, beret or fascinator. You will also learn how to wire a hat to ensure it holds its shape, how to curve a petersham ribbon and invisibly stitch into your hat.
After blocking a hat you will proceed onto learning trimming and decorating. You will be introduced to techniques such as creating felt flowers, twists and leaves, stitching a veil and much more.
By the end of the workshop you will gain invaluable millinery skills and leave with a finished hat you created yourself.
All materials will be provided. This workshop is suitable for beginners and intermediates.
