This course applies to individuals who use specialised knowledge and follow agreed processes to carefully check and process detailed financial information to ensure accounting standards are comply.
This Financial Accounting course describes the skills and knowledge required to prepare and process routine financial documents, prepare journal entries, post journal entries to ledgers, prepare banking and reconcile financial receipts, extract a trial balance and interim reports, record general journal adjustment to prepare end of period financial reports, and prepare financial statements for entities that do not have statutory duty to file financial report with government agencies and regulators.

Units:
Financial Accounting short course includes three units:
BSBFIA401 Prepare financial reports
FNSACC311 Process financial transactions and extract interim reports
FNSACC414 Prepare financial statements for non-reporting entities
Upon Completion:
Upon successful completion of all the units, students will receive a Statement of Attainment.
Students who do not complete all required units may be eligible for a Statement of Attainment in partial completion of the skill set.
Duration:
6 months access to materials and on-going support.
Students are provided access to the learning management system (Moodle) for 24 weeks to complete the course.
Students will be required to undertake online learning activities, independent study and assessment activities completed in their own time for approximately 3 hours per week. Total course study commitment is 3 hours/week * 24 weeks = 72 hours.
The indicated hours are approximate as the amount of time different students spend on independent study/open book assessment will vary with individual learner needs and students own individual contexts.
