The objective of our Fire Extinguisher Training is to inform, demonstrate and provide confidence to employees in the safe and effective use of fire extinguishers in the workplace.
Ontario Fire Protection is committed to assisting you with reducing your risk of loss due to a fire. This two-part Fire Extinguisher Training program combines both theory and practical hands-on demonstration and is designed for office, industrial and construction sectors.
Fire Extinguisher Theory:
This portion of the program takes approximately 15 minutes of outdoor instruction:
Identification of the benefits of training from an employer/employee perspective
Knowledge of the three elements of fire
Recognition of the classifications of fire
Review portable fire extinguisher ratings, uses, and methods of operation
Understand the PASS method
Review portable fire extinguisher maintenance and inspection processes
Fire Extinguisher Practical:
Using specialized training equipment Ontario Fire Protection simulates real fire situations for practice in extinguishing A, B and C type fires.
“Hands-on” experience of a real fire situation in a controlled environment
Practice the proper and most effective use of the portable fire extinguisher
Our automated demonstration system allows the trainee to ‘get it right
NFPA 10 of the Fire Code requires that in any commercial, industrial and multi-residential settings fire extinguishers are present, inspected and maintained. Adequate maintenance of extinguishers consists of annual and monthly inspections, 6 year maintenance, hydro-static testing and recharging as needed.
On completion of this course you will know: Occupational Health & Safety Act, Regulation & Code  for extinguishers, and emergency response
Fire Extinguisher Training is offered by Regional Fire.
Hot Work And Fire Watch Training is offered by Hot Zone Training Consulting Inc. When staff perform Hot Work, including welding, torching roofs, open flame cutting and brazing, a hot work permit and mandatory safety / engineering controls must be implemented.
This program is aimed at anyone wishing to take up a position as a firefighter in all municipalities in Quebec with a population of 5,000 inhabitants.
This course is designed for those interested in portable fire extinguisher maintenance. Student will learn the BC Fire Code requirements regarding inspection/ test/and recharge procedures
