Using Fire Extinguishers in Response to Fire Emergencies in The Workplace. ERGT Australia’s Fire Extinguishers (FEX) training course is designed for individuals to be able to meet and respond to fire emergencies in the regular workplace.
Trained personnel will have the capability to control a small fire through the use of nearby fire extinguishers and available workplace personal protective clothing and equipment.

ERGT Australia’s Fire Extinguisher training course is conducted at our safety training centres in Perth, WA, Melbourne, Victoria and Darwin, NT.
Learning Outcomes
The expected learning outcomes for the Nationally Recognised Training unit PUAFER008 Confine small emergencies in a facility are:
Prepare for emergency situations.
Identify and assess the emergency.
Safely confine emergencies.
Use initial response equipment.
Report facility emergency response.
ERGT Desired Skills and Knowledge
It is desirable, but not mandatory, that trainees attend the course with the following skills and knowledge of:
company inductions
workplace emergency response procedures
site emergency response structure and mustering procedure
organisational hazard identification, risk assessment processes and hazard reporting.
If you do not have the desired skills and knowledge listed above, ERGT recommends attending the Common Safety Training Program (CSTP).

Our training course is structured to ensure participants have the understanding of how to use a fire extinguisher and the knowledge required to select the correct extinguisher for a particular type of fire. The course also covers the use of hose reels and fire blankets.
Developed to cover a broad range of emergencies as considered in AS 3745-2010. Includes information relating to roles and responsibilities, duties, evacuation procedures, bomb and substance threats, and emergency response procedures.
This course will focus on fire safety and prevention, providing participants with an overview of potential common household emergency situations.
Training in the use of firefighting equipment is not required under any legislation unless the organisation has a specific requirement for employees to protect life or property. QuickFire EM can offer two types of training in the use of firefighting equipment.
This course is designed to enable the service technician to demonstrate to customers how various portable fire protection products are used in emergency situations.
