Fire Safety Training and Certification

Designed for healthcare professionals and the general public. Meets los angeles county healthcare facility requirements. Card is valid for four (4) years and issued at the end of the class.

Each hospital fire safety class is provided by an lafd certified instructor, comprehensive, lasts approximately four (4) hours and includes the following:

Basic Fire Chemistry:

Learn about the three elements of fire, the hazards of smoke inhalation, and what types of fires are the most dangerous.

Fire Extinguisher Use:

Learn how to use a fire extinguisher, its components, what types of fire extinguishers work best for different types of fires.

Rescue Methods:

Learn the how to safely transport family members, friends, coworkers and patients from danger by using rescue carry methods appropriate for your body type.

Home Fire Safety:

Covers emergency evacuation planning for your family, escape methods, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguisher use and what to do when there is a fire in your home.

Hospital Fire Safety:

Training is to be used in conjunction with your facility's fire safety procedures. Learn about fire alarms, fire extinguisher use, how to rescue patients, proper body mechanics when transporting patients, alarm pull stations and alerting authorities.

Emergency Planning:

Learn ways to be proactive and prevent fires in your home and work place. Safety tips, fire protection methods, evacuation drills and much more
