Harness has invested in a top of the line compressed air and water fire extinguisher simulator, providing a safe training environment whilst simulating real life fire incidents varying difficulty.
Theory is presented in a supportive learner centred environment designed to provide functional theoretical knowledge directly applicable to the field.
The assessment for this course has been designed to assess the individual to the Australian Qualification Framework, relevant Training Package, Australian and Industry expectations, as well as Commonwealth and State Legislation.
In the delivery of this course, our trainers focus on providing an individualised adult learning environment that considers the learner’s employment history and experience in the industry.

Learning Methods:
The mode of delivery for this course is face to face in a classroom environment as well as significant practical elements outside of the classroom. In the delivery of this course, our trainers focus on providing an individualised adult learning environment that considers the learner’s experience and training in First Aid.
Theory is presented in a supportive learner centered environment designed to provide functional theoretical knowledge that is directly applicable to real world tasks. Learning materials provided include the Harness student handbook and participants will be advised in advance of attending the course if there are any materials to be provided by them.

Course Content:
The Harness Fire Training course will cover the below key performance areas:
Recognise and assess fire situations, including the identification of different types of fires and fuels.
Determine appropriate actions according to procedures and within scope of own responsibilities, including:
evacuate (self/others)
seek assistance as appropriate
apply control measures
select and use a range of first response fire-fighting safety equipment
select and use appropriate extinguishing agent
apply defensive fire-fighting tactics and techniques
select and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
minimise the effect of a fire incident
communicate clearly and unambiguously with a range of personnel on fire emergency conditions, related problems and safety and emergency procedures.
