Elementary Anatomy And Physiology
This module deals with the bodily systems most likely to be affected in the workplace, such as the musculoskeletal, respiratory, circulatory and nervous systems, among others. We go through how impairment of these systems may physically manifest, allowing for ease of emergency diagnosis.
Assessing An Emergency Situation
We show learners how to assess and handle an emergency situation; identifying the contributing factors which led to the emergency, checking vital signs of casualties and prioritising the most severe injuries while preventing further injury. We also go over injury diagnosis and assessment of the first aid required.
Apply First Aid In A Life-threatening Situation
We take learners through the appropriate first aid to be administered according to the situation; we take learners through the contents of a standard workplace first aid kit, as well as showing how to use readily-available materials, in case medical supplies are unavailable, to treat immediate threats and prevent further complications and/or infection, according to the needs of the casualty, current practices and accepted procedures. We also go over how to perform cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and artificial respiration.
Treat Common Injuries
This module identifies and describes a wide range of physical injuries and conditions according to their severity, respective causes and possible treatments, as well as preventative measures to be taken. We also take learners through handover to medical authority in the event of severe injury.
