Course Description
From 1st October 2014, The Basic Food Hygiene Course and Refresher Course, a national level recognized and mandatory training and assessment require for food handler will now come under the Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) Food and Beverage Framework.
SSG and NEA (NOTE: With effect from 1 April 2019, all food-related functions will come under the Singapore Food Agency, SFA). sought to raise the food standards through its standardized training and assessment know-how, and at the same time, ensuring food handler are well trained to perform in their daily task.
Training will be conducted in either language medium, English and Mandarin respectively.
Course Objective
On completion of this unit, participants will have the knowledge and skills in Follow Food & Beverage Safety and Hygiene Policies and Procedures and be able to apply them at their workplace.
These include:
Practising good personal hygiene
Using safe ingredients
Handling food safely
Storing food safely
Maintaining cleanliness of utensils, equipment and service / storage areas
Learning Outcome
To equip food handlers with the knowledge and application skills in Follow Food & Beverage Safety and Hygiene Policies and Procedures and can be able to apply them in their workplace.
Assessment
At the end of the course, participants will be required to undergo an assessment for 1.5 hours which comprises of practical performance (PP), multiple choice questioning (MCQ) and oral questioning (OQ).
Participants who are certified competent will be awarded a Statement of Attainment (SOA) from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).
