This 1-day certification course is designed to provide participants with classroom training and practical skills of safe forklift (with vertical mast) operation. It also offers a practical confirmation for forklift operators with various levels of experience.
Whether you’ve only operated a forklift a few times or you’ve used these machines regularly over the course of your career, you’ll gain valuable skills from our forklift operator training. Edmonton, Red Deer, and Calgary area operators must simply complete at least 10 supervised hours driving a forklift to be eligible for this course.
Our forklift operating training course teaches forklift drivers to operate in a safe and efficient manner. At the end of the forklift training, participants who pass the written theory and practical confirmation receive a certification as proof of their skills.
Topics include:
Case studies — how proper technique can improve safety, increase efficiency, and lower downtime
Legislative requirements — provincial rules as well as company policies
Site inspections and hazards — pre-inspection and control identification
Basic operation techniques — traveling (loaded and unloaded), driving ramps and inclines, and refueling (gas, diesel, propane, and battery)
Forklift and operator safety requirements — such as dock safety
Hazards associated with operating forklifts — maneuvering, blind spots, speed, and load stability
Load Handling techniques — loading and unloading, stacking and racking
