Free Motion Machine Embroidery

This workshop will teach you a range of hand embroidery techniques, giving you an excellent introduction and enabling you to move onto completing a variety of embroidery designs. During this session you will learn the 14 basic stitches required to complete most hand embroidery designs.

Hand embroidery, and other sewing skills can be used as a mindfulness tool in our hectic lives. If you struggle to switch your brain off after work, or think you waste too much time mindlessly scrolling through Instagram you must try hand embroidery as tool to ween yourself off technology!

This course not only teaches you skills in Embroidery & Garment Construction but also how to relate these to your English studies. This course shows you how to focus on Embroidery & Garment Construction and realise progression goals related to your future interests and aspirations.

In the 4 hour class you will learn how to hoop up your fabric and set your machine up ready to create wonderfully wobbly lines. You’ll then get to grips with using your machine without feed dogs, ‘drawing’ with your machine and adding splashes of colour with fabrics.

Hand embroidery is the perfect hobby for those who are not too sure about sewing and want to give something creative a shot! Also amazing for accomplished sew-ers and quilters who want to spice up their existing projects with a little bit of surface decoration!
