The Society represents and defends the Francophone culture of Greater Victoria, by bringing the community together and offering valuable services.
In April 21st, 1941, six French-Canadians attend a meeting in Victoria, at Joseph Tremblay’s residence, to form the French-Canadian Club of British Columbia. Their goal is simple: Make a strong effort to find the French-canadians of the province. Reunite them, regroupe them, encourage meetings, develop its interest in the French language and help the membes whenever possile.
Did you know that there are almost 8 million French speakers in Canada? Although approximately 85% of them live in Quebec, there are over a million who reside in other parts of the country, which means if you live in Canada, you probably come into contact with the language on a daily basis.
With our team of qualified native French-speaking teachers, we offer a large range of courses, including specialised courses, private tuition, workshops, immersion days, outings to museums or restaurants and more.
Continuing Education, a school of the Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est (CECCE), offers language courses for adults residing in Ontario at different levels in French.
The DELF and DALF designate two modern degrees designed to assess the ability to communicate in a candidate, in real-life situations using authentic documents. These two diplomas attest and certify the level of proficiency in French of candidates whose mother tongue is other than French.
Open a New World for Learners With ELL French Course This course is an interactive, online course designed for French language learners from CEFR levels Starter A1 to A2 levels. Students will follow a cast of characters as they move through their interesting and exciting everyday lives.
