Pre-School / Elementary School Students
Class size 1 – 6. Weekly hour-long classes. Basic conversational French and vocabulary building are taught through the use of music, art, games, and role playing. Oral skills are primary focus; writing and reading skills are introduced gradually. Classes are formed by parents or by French in Acton.
Junior/Senior High School Students
Class size 1 – 6. Weekly hour-long classes. Classes can be used as private or group enrichment or as a supplement to school French classes. Depending upon students’ needs and learning styles, classes consist of grammar review, vocabulary-building games, and extensive oral practice.
Adult Students
Class size 1 – 6.Weekly sessions are tailored to meet students’ personal goals. Conversational classes are designed to provide ample oral practice. Reading and writing are used to enhance oral skills. Classroom activities range from conversational role-playing (ordering in a Parisian café) to grammar exercises to reading an article, play, or book.

French in Acton does not subscribe to a traditional immersion method of teaching, but rather encourages its students to use what language skills they currently possess to communicate, with the goal of continually expanding their knowledge base.
Adhering to French in Acton's belief in the importance of incorporating fun into the learning process, all classes are filled with energy, enthusiasm, and humor.
The Alliance Française de Seattle is a dynamic educational and cultural 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization incorporated in the state of Washington since 1987, whose mission is to promote the French language and Francophone cultures through diverse programs in the Puget Sound area.
Learn French! We offer fun, interactive classes and private lessons for adults. Other than complete beginners, it is necessary to evaluate all new or returning students in order to place them in the correct level. Evaluations are free, brief (5 to 10 minutes), painless and without obligation.
French courses are taught by professioanal teachers who will help you to develop competency in the four key learning areas: speaking, reading, writing, and listening.
