Sewing Arts
Sewing Arts is a boutique sewing center in Santa Monica, CA. We're a one-stop-shop, for all your sewing needs: machines, fabric, notions, accessories, etc. — just ask, we probably have it, and if we don’t have it, we will try and get it!
Additionally, we provide a range of services — custom quilting, embroidery services, and machine service and repairs — as well as classes which range from sewing for fashion, quilting, hand embroidery, and youth camps. As a boutique store, we are committed to providing our customers the highest quality products and services. While we offer a wide range of goods, everything is handpicked to meet our (and your) highest standards.
We have painfully (nah, it is actually quite fun) curated a very specific line of fabrics and notions to meet what we feel can satisfy everyone’s tastes from traditional to modern. Furthermore, our teaching staff is amazing! They come with a world of experience, from award winning quilting, to classically trained in garment sewing and design. There is almost nothing we cannot teach, whether in a group or private setting; we even recreated miniature sails for a replica antique boat!
We are exclusively a Bernina dealer — we believe they offer the best, top-of-the-line machines, whether it be for sewing, long arm / free motion quilting, or overlock, and we want to provide nothing but the best for our students and customers. Our classroom has 12 workstations all with Bernina 350’s. The quiet hum of 12 Bernina machines, all sewing at once, is music to our ears. We stock all the current Bernina models, as well as most of the Bernette’s. Bernette, Bernina’s “little sister machine” as I like to call it, is the perfect little machine for travel, or someone who is just needs a basic, yet dependable, machine for simple mending or projects.
We will create and stitch out the candle mat in our embroidery hoop using an embroidery design from our machine. The Design Shaping feature will be used to duplicate and evenly place our Christmas designs in a circle shape
Students learn at their own pace and progressively gain confidence as their skill level grows with each project. Classes are taught in a creative and encouraging environment with small class sizes to ensure individual attention.
