We offer English classes at various levels as well as a wide range of other languages, typically including Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Mandarin, Italian, Korean, Russian, Japanese and more on offer.
Our classes usually run for 10 weeks, taking place once a week on campus.
About Us
Our Story
The idea for the International Society arose back in 1966 when Eva Auerbach, a Chaplain at the University of Manchester, felt there was a need for an independent organisation to provide welfare and social support to international students.
Under the direction of Ms Anna Ford the Society was founded. From small beginnings of less than a hundred members we now have around 6,000 members from over 130 countries each year.

The International Society is a unique one of a kind, independent charity based in Manchester that has been celebrating cultural diversity and promoting global friendship for over 56 years.
We aim to provide international students with a warm and friendly welcome when they arrive in the city and to make their time in the UK a wonderful experience. Our activities including trips, classes, events, activities and volunteering opportunities are open to all.
While the majority of the Society’s members are international and British students studying at the universities and colleges in the city, many are people who have come to live and work in the UK, or members of the community interested in meeting people from all over the world. The Society is family-friendly and people of all ages get involved.
German language course is offered by Business Language Services. everal study formats: weekly sessions, semi-intensive or intensive weeks, semi-intensive or intensive days
German Language is offered by Bristol Tutors. Our dedicated tutors are committed to navigating students through the intricacies of language acquisition and customising tutoring to suit individual needs and learning preferences.
German is spoken by around 100 million native speakers, mainly located in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Liechtenstein, and also around 30 million non-native speakers from all around the world. In a ranking of world languages, German is in tenth place.
ABC German classes could be exactly what you're looking for. We offer friendly, interactive and fun, small group classes in Clapham and Kensington taught by qualified native German teachers.
Learn to speak German on this communicative course for beginners. A large emphasis of the class will be on the practical use of German and the development of your speaking and listening skills.
