German language School Colorado believes that learning another language is a human right. We offer German classes for all proficiency levels and age groups. Our teachers are qualified native German speakers and can provide a “full immersion” in German language and culture.
German Language School Colorado offers German language classes for children ages 4 -18 and for adults who have a desire to learn and master the German language. Space is limited to keep class sizes small. We believe that small classes provide a positive learning environment and allow students to learn faster.
Our Language School
Our German Language School is a non-profit organization that is recognized and supported by the Central Agency for German Schools Abroad (ZfA), an institution of the German government. Our curriculum follows the criteria and standards set by the Kultusministerkonferenz of the German government.
The objective of our German Saturday School is to prepare students for the Deutsches Sprachdiplom (DSD). The DSD is a German language proficiency test based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (Gemeinsamer Europäischer Referenzrahmen für Sprachen) and consists of three separate tests:
Level A2: basic use of the language; offers advantages for job applications.
Level A2/B1 (DSD I): independent use of the language; language proficiency certificate permits enrolment at a preparatory “Studienkolleg” in Germany.
Level B2/C1 (DSD II): competent use of the language; language proficiency certificate counts as linguistic qualification for university studies in Germany. Find more information on attending a German university at the German Academic Exchange Service’s (DAAD) website.
Prior knowledge of German is not required for participation in Saturday School although a significant number of our students hear or speak German at home.
Our teachers regularly participate in conferences organized by the ZfA (Central Agency for German Schools Abroad, an institution of the German Government). We are part of a large network of German schools across the US and have become an active partner in an ongoing exchange of ideas and teaching methods for modern, student-centered German classes.
Racially Nondiscriminatory Policy
The non-profit organization admits students of any race, color, national origin, and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic or other school-administered programs.
