Upon completion of the braiding course, studen ts will be fully equipped with the skills necessary to pass the state board examination required for a braider's license. Students will also know the importance of projecting a positive and professional image at all times.
The course subject matter will be presented in the form of instructor lectures, audiovisual presentations, practical demonstrations, class discussions, practical and theory worksheets, written and practical evaluations, and practice on each other and mannequins.
BCI is committed to providing its students, faculty, and staff with modern day equipment and supplies. BCI is housed in a well maintained air conditioned building with over 28,000 sq ft of luxurious space.
We have several spacious classrooms, lockers and locker rooms, an elegant senior cosmetology and barber styling clinics where hair, skin and nail services are performed by supervised students. Off street parking is available and BCI is located 1/2 block from the Brookland Metro Station (Red Line).
Our in-house educator, Kelley Alba, will spend an hour with you; helping you learn how to blowdry/curl your hair...using the right products and tools! It's a blast! We currently carry Kevin Murphy.
