Rescu-Life Africa (PTY) Ltd (Registration number: 2012/191848/07) is a company registered with the Department of Trade and Industry as a training facility.
The Director of Rescu-Life Africa is Christopher Victor Jacka. Chris started his career in emergency services in 1982. He worked, and is qualified, in all three major fields of emergency services, namely ambulance, fire and rescue.
Chris has vast experience in all of these fields and started his career in the South African Air Force as a rescue specialist, Benoni Fire Brigade and Western Cape Provincial Administration as a Rescue-Medic as well as the top post in the capital city of South Africa, Pretoria.
Chris obtained his Critical Care Assistant qualification in Cape Town under Dr McMahon who brought to South Africa the “current” emergency service scope from the United States.
Chris is a fully qualified Fire Fighter and Fire Instructor and also obtained his Graduate Diploma from the International Fire Engineers Institute in the United Kingdom. Throughout his professional career he held top operational and training positions in the largest emergency services in South Africa.
It was through his dedication and passion for Emergency Services as a whole, specifically in South Africa, that lead him to open the first privately owned Multi Disciplined Emergency Service Training College. Over the years, our college has grown in size, personnel, various accreditations, equipment and infrastructure.
Our training facility was established in 2005 is situated in Pretoria North, Bon Accord; and spans over two small holdings exceeding 4.2 hectare.
There are currently five lecture rooms and another three are planned for building in 2014. We have an administration block where all administration, course bookings and logistics are being dealt with.
Rescu-Life Africa, is therefore accredited as a Further Education and Training college (Pending Verification as of 2013); also known as a F.E.T, fully accredited with LGSETA, HPCSA, SAESI, IANTD, Wits University, South African Resuscitation Council and Department of Labour company.
With these accreditations, this places our company in a unique position to be one of a limited number of companies that can offer the majority of courses for Professional Emergency services.
Any person or orginisation wanting to enter or comply with their desired needs; in either Medical, Fire and Rescue; From Basic First Aid to Basic Industrial Fire fighting to the professional levels in all these fields.
The aim of this course is to equip the delegate with the skill and knowledge in order to understand Hazmat Incident. Delegates will gain knowledge and insight regarding their role and responsibility in dealing with the incident.
HAZCHEM Awareness training is offered by Motheo Skills Entity (Pty) Ltd. Motheo Skills Entity was established to respond to government’s need to improve skills levels of citizenry in the workplace and to curb the ever-growing number of unemployed youth.
The Hazchem training material complies fully with the South African Qualifications Act as well as the TETA requirements. Dantran offers trainers that are accredited as competent assessors and train according to National Unit Standards.
Handling & Storage of Hazardous Chemical Substances training is offered by Integral Risk Advisors. Integral Risk Advisors is providers of Client-focused training in skills development and expertise for industry and mining in the areas of safety and materials handling.
The purpose of this course is to give first responders a basic understanding of the importance of safety controls and procedures when dealing with dangerous goods and to explain their own role in the event of an emergency involving these materials.
