Thank you for stopping by! My name is Santiago Talamantez and I am the owner of Safety Compliance & Training LLC based in San Antonio. I provide DOT and OSHA Compliance coaching services as a consultant and instructor.
I have been in operation for close to four years and began this journey with a seven year career in law enforcement, primarily as a Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Trooper with the Texas Department of Public Safety.
In 2012, I was recruited to the private side by an oilfield company in Carrizo Springs. I spent the next several years learning the role of DOT Compliance Management on the company side. As I grew in experience, I quickly observed that there was equal value in being knowledgeable of OSHA Workplace Compliance.
I then committed myself to being dually educated in OSHA regulations and moved out to Midland at the end of 2013. I worked as a field safety representative for several years before obtaining my first safety manager position with a pipeline company in San Antonio.
After two years of managing that program, I was hired as a Corporate Safety Director for an oilfield service company based in Houston. It was a 500+ employee operation with over 22 locations spread throughout the United States.
In less than a year, the corporate Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) dropped from 2.49 in 2019 to 1.47 in 2020. Being dually trained and experienced in HSE Management was proven to be just as valuable as being experienced and educated with DOT regulations on the company side.
My goal now is to take all the experience and education I've gained over the last 19 years and provide companies with more trustworthy and applicable training and coaching services, from someone with the most credible and proven background compared to most "consultants." I regularly travel around the state presenting various courses tailored to provide motor carriers the most current and applicable knowledge for your employees managing your company safety program.
The DOT Compliance Manager Training Course I provide has also been approved for continuing education units (CEU's) at Midland College and is the only course that approved by the SACSCOC.
I also have the exclusive trademark to issue students the designation of "Certified DOT Compliance Manager" for professionals desiring to progress in their careers. Please visit my other pages to view my services, and check out the training page for my current schedule and course information!
