DurationThe Janice Luey Dance Co. will share our love of dance with our students, while mentoring and nurturing them. All of our teaching staff are parents or school teachers. We understand the needs of our students and we care for them like they are our own. Each class has an assistant teacher. We keep our classes to a maximum of 8 students, some having significantly less.
This truly gives our students the personalized attention they deserve. We do not start recital dances in September. Class time is focussed primarily upon learning. The children will get to discover the joy of movement through fun and creative dance adventures.
Students are required to wear a t-shirt or tank top with sweat pants or leggings and indoor sneakers or black jazz shoes.
Class will consist of warm-up, centre and traveling exercises and may involve elements of popping, breaking and house styles.Â
Hip Hop classes are offered by The Dance Theatre Performing Arts. Locking, popping and street jazz and hip hop all combine to make this jazz discipline a unique and fun dance art.
They are strong and energetic dance forms that teach rhythm and a variety of complex and controlled movements.Â
